Jimmy's House

Custom Glitter Text

On the 25th of June I went to my best friend's house. When I got there I hopped out of the car and Jimmy was there. When I got inside his room it was covered in logo, so I helped him tidy up.

Discovery time

My group  and I got out a big sheet. Then planned on the whiteboard, then we did a draft and drew with pencil because we might make a mistake.  Then we drew a pond, New River Primary, round about, train track, car parks, rugby park and golf course. Then we painted the train

Discovery Time Streets

For Discovery time I Drew a picture of a road and some grass then I panted it I didn't get time to finish it so I am going to draw schools, houses, parks, shops and things you normally see around town with felt pens.

Last Friday Room 12 went to Enrich. We were excited when we arrived at Enrich everyone was looking forward to making Movies and to have fun. We made Garageband Movies it was Awesome because We could use different voices and we could add Music in the Background. Alana and Katie were experts at making Garageband movies, At Morning Tea and Lunch time we went to get some fresh air outside at the Car park and we played with the balls. For our stories we got to choose out of The Three little Pigs, The true Story of The Three little Pigs, Princess Smarty Pants, The Gruffalo and Russell the Sheep. We got a A3 piece of paper with the pictures on it so then we get to plan before we do our actual Movie, We also got Headphones to talk in our story its like we are telling the Story but you can change some parts of your Story. When we were going back to school we said Goodbye to Alana and Katie and we also sang a Waiata (Song) for them for giving up their time to teach us how to make Garageband Movies. We had an AWESOME time and our teacher was proud of Room 12.

At our recent Maori Community Consultation we shared with our whanau the different learning styles here at New River Primary.  Our Oral Language Programme Tales highlights the use of Peer Mentoring (also known as Tuakana Teina - this is when senior students will support the learning of junior students).  We also use Peer Mentoring with Reading Tutors in the classroom and Reciprocal Teaching of Reading.
