First in a Butterflies life there is an egg [in other words a lava] it hatches it is called a caterpillar it eats and grows. A few weeks later it makes a case around itself it is now called a pupa it will stay in its cocoon for along time. It needs time to transform. When it is clear it is ready to come out. It is ready to fly. It will lay its eggs and the cycle will start again.
MONARCHS LIVE LONGER!!!!
Monarchs live longer than other Butterflies because it all depends on when they are born if they are born in spring they live 4-5 weeks if they are born in autumn they live for several months

Descriptive Language - Silly Stories...
One day Zombies and Aliens came to take over the world. Shelley and Harper looked like twins, they had long brown hair and bright blue eyes. DING DING CLICK said "Let's do something about it" so they started throwing small stones at the Zombies, but it was a epic fail. The King lived in the palace made of gold. Alexis was a special dragon to her sister's because she could not fly. The lion started disobeying, then bang, bang. The dinosaurs were stomping purple stones. "Wait Stop I can not let this happen" said the Alien...

Hello I am Hori Elers I am 11 years old and I was born at Kew Hospital.
Right it starts right here …
I am going to tell you what I’d do if I was Prime Minister for a day. I reckon that petrol is too dear so I am going to make it. 50c a litre and the GST will go down to .10c. I will even give schools in Invercargill free clothes and shoes. The food is so dear and some families cannot afford it . I will give everyone 200 million dollars for food. I feel really bad for the poor people so I will give every poor person some money so they can get clothes, food and shoes. The smoking is very bad around here it is not good for people. I will get every person that smokes free patches so they can stop smoking.

Watermelon is like a rock. When you cut it. it sometimes cut like your cutting paper or like cardboard. It’s coloured like a green ball and the best part is eating it. It’s like juicy juice yummy.

IF I WAS A PRIME MINISTER FOR A DAY...
Hi my name is Dezia and this is my speech about if I was Prime Minister for a day.
I would put fruit in all of the schools and build canteens in all of the schools so if people get money off their mum they can buy some food from the canteen oh yeh! I will give something flash to all of the people in the school so they can show off. Hey it’s okay to show off! Last but not least I will give money to the poor so they can go and buy some food and can eat more than just a little bit. All I want to do it make my world a healthy place to live in and build houses for the people that live on the streets so they can have a comfy house to live in. The last thing I am going to do is look in peoples lunch boxes to see if they have junk food because it is not healthy for them but if it’s the only thing they have in their lunch box it’s fine. The next time they come to school they need to make sure they have a healthy lunch box, I will build a theme park for each country to play in but each country will have there own of course and you won’t have to pay a thing. It will be called DD WORLD!!!!!! This is to make other people very happy and others can have F U N that’s right fun!

My New Puppy!
My New Puppy!
On the 2nd Saturday of the holidays Dad, Mum, Emily and I got to take our puppy home to keep.
The woman that sold her to us said it would be too confusing for the puppy to come to our house for a visit, then have to go back to her, before coming to stay at our house for good. Our puppy’s name is Ava Cody Capil. Her middle name is Cody because our old dogs name was Cody and we really miss him. Ava is a German Shepard her favourite toys are her squeaky toys like her rugby ball and duck. Ava also makes me laugh because she barks at the lux and lawnmower when they’re not even on! She has already dug three holes in the front yard. Ava LOVES eating pigs ears like any dog would. Even though she’s naughty at times I really love her.

Murihiku Marae
Murihiku Marae 2010……
A Marae is a very special place to go to have special occasions.
The wharenui is called Te Rakitauneke it was named after a man who was an ancestor.
Murihiku Marae was opened in 1990.
The kahurangi stone represent every story the iwi has.
The patterns on the roof are called kowhaiwhai.
There were some pacific people that carved the patterns on the wall.
There were 92 people that worked there when it was first opened.
We have a kaikorero that is a male to speak for us and then the other male kaikorero stands and responds to his speech.
We have a kaikaranga that calls for us when we are ready to go onto the marae and it’s the tangata whenua who calls us on the Marae.
A Marae is a very good place for special occasions and I like Maraes because when I get to go in I get to know more about Maori people and their culture their iwi (tribe), Also the part I like the most about Maraes is their beautiful patterns on the wall and the beautiful kowhaiwhai pattern on the roof.

Toheroa Gathering.
Toheroa are shellfish they move with their tongue they are hard to catch because they are fast movers through the sand. So you have to be fast to catch them
To gather Toheroa you must have a permit, some buckets for the Toheroa,
some friends and some ready to go hands to dig for Toheroa. You will be
fined if the Toheroa are not 100mm long, bigger than 100mm is ok the fine is $500.00.
The Toheroa must be eaten on the day you stated on the permit this is usually a special occasion. Toheroa are harmful to people because they hide in the sand.
They will die if they are out of the sand.

Murihiku Marae
Murihiku Marae…
A Marae is very important to the Maori people and it is also used for special occasion like weddings and tangi (Funerals).
Murihiku marae is an important place for many people especially the people who belong to this marae.
When you walk into the wharenui it has a special name called Te Rakitauneke, it has been named after a special ancestor that was buried on Bluff Hill, he is still important to the marae and their people.
About 92 people helped make the marae and about ¼ of these people were pacific island people. The Maori were kind enough to let them leave a bit of their heritage so they painted a pattern on the wall.
A very important rule was that when the men were carving the walls in the wharenui the ladies were not allowed in the wharenui.
If you are in a Powhiri process each ropu (group) would have a Kaikaranga other wise known as a caller, when the tangata whenua Kaikaranga does her call then the other group calls back until the visitors arrive at the wharenui.
The building of the marae began in 1986 and finished in 1990, so many people put effort into the marae to make it beautiful and special.
When you are in the wharenui with another ropu, each of you will have a kaikorero, a kaikorero is always a male and he does a speech. If you are the guest then you will give money for the tangata whenua to look after the marae, this is called a koha.
Each marae has a iwi tribe that they are proud to represent in a lot different of ways. A marae has a beautiful nature behind it and legends that will be here for eternity.
